“God” . . . sometimes that’s all you can say. No need to muster an eloquent prayer. The words are hollow. As hollow as the void in your soul. You’re soul, so parched, so confused. And so you pray. But all you can say is “God.” But it’s enough. Because behind that three letter word lies the intent of your heart. “God” I need you, “God” I can not do this alone. “God” forgive me. “God” stop the pain. “God” help me to believe. It’s a short prayer, not one that would be long remembered by a graduating class, or crowded congregation. But it’s enough.
