Oklahoma City National Memorial
I should have posted this earlier. Jami reminded me.
She wrote, "As a senior in a small Oklahoma highschool I remember watching the events unfold on a small tv rolled into Mrs. Spakes biology class."
I was in Mrs. Jenkin’s classroom. We found out about the bombing before it was even on the news. Sheila’s big brother lived at Tinker Airforce Base. He had called his mom to tell her.
I’ve been through OKC so many times since then. But I’ve never stopped at the memorial. I always want to, but never ‘have time.’ Well once, before the memorial was built, I had time. But we didn’t think it would be a good idea to drive a U-Haul truck to the memorial site.

We took Kaleb and Charleigh a few years ago while on the way to your house. It was beautiful, we want to go back now that the kids are older.

Seeing all of the chairs, is a very moving experience. It reminds you of the lives ended because of a man’s radical ideas.

Ironically, the day that happened was the day I arrived in Springfield to check out Evangel as a HS senior. Crazy stuff.
