Challenging

VanillaSomeone called to tell me she’s pregnant. I wanted to cheer and let her know of my shared excitement. But I had to tell her, “I can’t be excited with you right now, there’s a naked baby painting my kitchen floor.” As I hung up the phone, I laughed at her because she would soon have two kids.

My children are being… “Challenging” today. So challenging in fact that they could lead a person to drink. They could even lead this teetotaler to drink… If we had more than half a teaspoon of vanilla extract in the house.

Define: teetotaler
Edit: Removed name of pregnant person… sorry.
Note: The photo is a re-enactment… I needed a background for my empty vanilla bottle photo. Jami mentioned that there isn’t that much paint on the floor, that I shouldn’t be complaining. That’s because I already cleaned up Sarah’s artwork, this was my own doing… that’s how crazy they have driven me… I would have painted more, but she used all the paint up in her earlier floor art attempts.

  1. As I read about days like today. I become glad that I have reached the place in my life to be the grandma and laugh because I am finished with those kind of days. Except of course when the kids come to visit me.

  2. I think mine should come visit soon!

Actually, they’re being very good after running through the sprinkler and drinking “delicious” hot chocolate. There was that one coloring on the carpet incident.

  3. Must be one of those days. My three year old quarterback threw a pass that was intercepted by a glass wall sconce sending glass flying all over my living room. Nice, Brett Farve. You’re in time out!
