Stuff from a TV preacher

I remember seeing Pastor Robert Tilton preaching on a small black and white TV. We called him the Plastic Preacher Here’s a flickr photo set of things he mails to people… Interesting… Odd… Embarassing… I just can’t think of the right word for it.

Update: Oooh Ooh, I came up with the right word. It just happens to be the word of the day.

Word of the Day for Monday August 29, 2005

  unctuous \UNGK-choo-us\, adjective:
  1.  Of the nature or quality of an unguent or ointment; fatty;
  oily; greasy.
  2. Having a smooth, greasy feel, as certain minerals.
  3.  Insincerely or excessively suave or ingratiating in manner
  or   speech;   marked  by  a  false  or  smug  earnestness  or
  agreeableness.

  4. Perfect word.
    Better watch out though, he/his could be reading your blog. Of course then you could politely discuss it over email then become respectable friends. That has been known to happen around here.

  6. What a day. I watched hurricane Katrina destroy the gulf coast and now I find out the “Plastic Preacher” is still out there.

    I can’t wait to wake up tomorrow and start a new day.

  7. Jami: I’ve written so many responses to your comment… but none of them get published… just asking for trouble. I’ll call you in the morning instead. Somethings are better left untyped.
