Blame

Sarah came in from the backyard covered with water… again. Sarah said Jeremiah had sprayed her with the hose. Jeremiah said she did it to herself. This argument turned into a shouting match, with accusations of lying and potential pushing and shoving. And while they argued about who was to blame, Sarah still stood there. Wet. Cold. Shivering. Dripping.

Everyone wants to point fingers. No matter what happens, each side will blame the other.

The thing that gets me about this is that truth doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if your accusations are inaccurate. Just as long as you throw them hard enough. As long as you spew them often enough. People on your side will believe you. And they’ll hate more.

I’m so tired of the blame game.

Note: I deleted half of this post. It included examples of the accusations being fired left to right, right to left. But why post them here? They’re everywhere and we would only pick the ones we want to believe and reject the rest. Truth? Well that doesn’t really matter. As long as they’re written by people on our side, and hating people on the other side.
