Charleigh needs $785.02

Jami Leigh [my twin sister] just published a post on her blog called, “$785.02.” That’s how much she needs by tomorrow morning so that her daughter can get tubes in her ears. Charleigh is having a hard time hearing and she really needs this surgery.

Jami doesn’t ask for money in her post. She just asks us to pray that God “will send me some money today.”

This reminded me of a comment that Judi left on one of my posts. She said,

“It was significant to me that there does come a point where we have to say, God I know you can do this, but do you want to use me to do it?”

Jami doesn’t have 785.02. Neither do I. But I do have some money I could share. I wonder if others would like to help this precious little girl get her ears fixed.

If you would like to, you can donate here:

Update: The doctor allowed Jami to set up a better payment plan. It’ll still be challenging, but at least it isn’t all due TODAY. Charleigh had the tubes put in her ears this morning. Thanks to anyone who helped!

There’s an update at JamiLeigh.com.

  2. We will be praying for your niece, Amy. Twice God has answered prayers for us for specific amounts like that. You are such a great sister, Amy. How sweet of you. Don’t have a lot of money to send, but did what I could. Wish I had some previously poopy shoes to sell. :)

  3. Thanks Debbie. Oh yeh, previously poopy shoes would definitely be a big fund raiser. HA.

  4. Thanks Debbie! Thanks Amy!

And I’m not so sure the previously poopy shoes would make a good fund raiser. They didn’t bring in any bids. In fact I wore them to church last Sunday. Of course the fact that the pictures were down the last day of the auction didn’t help them sell. I like to tell my self that is why no one purchased my “previously poopy shoes”

  7. Oh good. She had posted it. Any mother can relate a similar story I’m sure, but not as funny as Jami writes it. Thanks for the link!

  8. I’m curious if you didn’t read the “poopy shoe” story from my blog were did you read it? Did Amy previously link you to my failed Ebay auction?

By the way the poopy shoes have since been vomited on, perhaps I should change their name.

  9. Yes, she had linked to it somewhere, don’t remember if it was here or on another board? I would have bid on the shoes, but they weren’t my size. Drat! Guess I could have put them in a shadow box as a conversation piece at my wanted, but sadly non-existant dinner parties.
