A few weeks ago, I missed a meeting concerning Sarah’s need for speech therapy. During all the chaos that surrounded me, I neglected to check my calendar and enjoyed lunch with a friend instead of a meeting with Springfield Public Schools.
They had the meeting without me and scheduled Sarah’s screening for the day before Thanksgiving. A day we weren’t in town. I called and told them we wouldn’t make it and said I would call and reschedule when I got back to town.
After driving all day, I gathered a week’s worth of mail and tossed it to the desk. About to go to sleep, I decided to open one envelope… Oh look a letter from Springfield Public Schools. “Since it was going to be difficult to contact you by telephone, I have re-scheduled Sarah’s speech evaluation for November 29, 2005 at 9:30.” People, that is less than 12 hours from now. If I’m too far from home to answer the phone, I PROBABLY won’t be receiving my mail either. Craziness. I better go to bed, I have to fill out a ton of paperwork before tomorrow’s meeting.

Hi Amy- it’s been ages since I’ve read your blog - so sorry! I’m sorry your Thanksgiving was less than perfect, but you got to spend time with your whole family and your husband which is definitely something to be thankful for!
Hope Sarah’s speech therapy goes very well.
