Life is random, so is my blog.

More Than You’ll Ever Know

When I consider my life over the last six months, a few prominent themes come to mind.

Some bad: Doubt. Confusion. Shame. Fear. Debt.
Some good: Faith. Family. Friends. Forgiveness. Hope.

Since November, I’ve meant to write about friendship. I’ve procrastinated because my words are inadequate. The right words can’t possibly flow from my fingertips onto your screen. They will not be enough.

God has blessed me with such amazing friends. I can’t even begin to list all of the wonderful, strong women in my life. I might accidentally leave out half a dozen incredible friends.

I’ll take the easy [slightly cheesy] route. Once again, I’m breaking my blogging rules by posting song lyrics. [Ugh.] I can’t help it. They’re too perfect.

Here’s another song for my soundtrack.
More Than You’ll Ever Know by Watermark.

More Than You’ll Ever Know
by Watermark

Something brought you to my mind today
I thought about the funny ways you make me laugh
And yet I feel like it’s okay to cry with you
Something about just being with you
When I leave I feel like I’ve been near God
And that’s the way it ought to be…

CHORUS:
‘Cause you’ve been more than a friend to me
You fight off my enemies
‘Cause you’ve spoken the Truth over my life
And you’ll never know what it means to me
Just to know you’ve been on your knees for me
Oh, you have blessed my life
More than you’ll ever know, yeah, yeah, yeah
More than you’ll ever know, yeah, yeah, yeah

You had faith, when I had none
You prayed God would bring me a brand new song
When I didn’t think I could find the strength to sing
And all the while I’m hoping that I’ll
Do the kind of praying for you that you’ve done for me
And that’s the way it ought to be…

You have carried me
You have taken upon a burden that wasn’t your own
And may the blessing return to you
A hundredfold, oh yeah…
A hundredfold, oh yeah…

  1. I for one, like it when you print song lyrics. I have heard that song a thousand times and never actually listened to the words. Thanks.

  2. I like it when you mention song lyrics too. Sometimes they really can say more than we can. And I don’t think I have heard this song. i will listen to it on Rhapsody. And . . . thank you for NOT using Michael W. SMith’s Friends are friends forever. Though that was a good song, it has been overdone, and become cheezy to the max.

HOpe you are doing well. Miss you lots.

  3. Oh I can hear Smitty singing now, “And friends are friends forever if the Lord’s the Lord of them…”

Hehe That’s too funny. Thanks Hillery.

  5. I am ok with the song lyrics- like I would have never noticed the Casting Crown’s “I will praise you in this storm” song until you blogged about it. I love it! It ministers to me too! But most of the time with lyrics, I am clueless with what the song sounds like- so I guess I should download it! And I agree with Hillery- the MK Smith is WAY overdone- and it seems like it is getting a lot of radioplay here lately.

Oh, by the way- I had my ultrasound- I am having a girl!!!! Allison Emma it is (at least that is the name for now!). We are very excited- I got to go buy some pink stuff today! (with cash!- don’t worry!)
