I stumbled upon an interesting read tonight.
In this short story, Dan Simmons claims he was visited by a Time Traveler who warned him about the future. Careful, he uses a few words that many of you won’t approve of.
Speaking of words. The Time Traveler lists several words that probably mean nothing to you now, but he says they will in the next 15 to 20 months:
Ahmadenijad. Natanz. Arak. Bushehr. Ishafan. Bonab. Ramsar.

One reference I was proud to recognize was “Syracuse.” No, not New York. The Athenians attacked Syracuse in the Peloponnesian War…. On very rare occasions, my interest in Ancient Greece actually comes in handy.
[Anyone want to hear an oral presentation on ancient Greek ships of war? Just give me an overhead projector and I'm ready to explain trireme battle tactics like John Madden at half-time.]
