Just Wondering…

Why? Why? Why do so many young men wear their shorts so low? Goodness, you can see 7/8ths of their Hanes. Really, why are they wearing pants at all? I guess they don’t want anyone to see thier knees. That must be it, because that’s all they’re covering.

How can the Springfield Cardinals possibly sell cheap white coffee mugs for fourteen bucks each? Is it a joke? Are cameras hidden in the store just to catch the looks on shopper’s faces when they turn the cup over and see the ridiculous price tag? Does the cashier fall into fits of giggling when a clueless shopper actually buys one of the mugs?

Why does it cost 15 dollars more to live on the top floor of an apartment? Shouldn’t they knock a little off the rent since you have to climb so many stairs?

  1. Oh you’re funny!

I have no idea why boys are wearing their pants around their knees today. I must warn you, if it’s still in style when Jer is a teenager… good luck keeping his pants up. When Joel was 10 we were driving out of Walmart on the north side and saw two boys with their pants around in their knees. In the spirit of “preventative maintenance” I tried to scare him out of ever doing that. I told him “I don’t see why anyone would wear their pants like that, if you rip a juicy one, EVERYONE will know.” That only deterred him for about two years. I know, that’s disgusting, but gimme a break, Dwayne wasn’t around and I was doing my best. :)

As far as the cheaper apartments being on the lower levels… I’m guessing that they charge more for the top floor because in theory, you don’t get as much traffic in the halls? Sounds logical to me. Of course, I don’t think the people that set the prices ever had to walk up to the third level with two preschoolers and 14 bags of groceries.

  2. BTW, did you know that the stores are carrying “low-rise” jeans for GUYS now? I saw that at work a while back and couldn’t believe it.

  5. About the pants, no one knows, they are teenagers, they don’t even know.

The mugs, I go with the video and laughing. It sounds logical to me.

And with it costing more to live on the top floor, I think it is because you don’t have to hear people walking on your head all of the time.

Just my rambling thoughts. Love you and miss you

  6. Top floor apartments are quieter, and warmer in winter. But the stairs are a pain!

  7. I never realized that they were cheaper, but I personally liked living on the higher floors- it is annoying to feel like people are walking on your head. Also, because I am such a paranoid person I liked knowing that someone couldn’t break into my windows from that high. But yes, the whole carrying in the groceries thing was super annoying- especially with a baby. (we lived on the second floor of an apartment building Lauren’s first year- Chardonnay appts- they were nice too- we liked the free ammenities like cable, etc)

  8. They’re not cheaper, they’re more expensive… at least at all the apartments we looked at. They said it was because of the vaulted ceilings.

I don’t worry about people walking overhead… I worry about my kids bothering people below us.

  9. Oh yeah- sorry- I was a little sleepy last night when I commented! Hopefully someone with kids live below you then. The last apt we lived in we were below- and there was this lady with two young kids above us. They were always running up and down the halls. It really didn’t bother me though, especially since my kids can be loud. Her kids were funny though, (the apts weren’t that sound proof) as soon as she would step into the shower her kids would start jumping on her bed- EVERYTIME! Sometimes they wouldn’t hear the shower go off- so we would hear her yell “Get off my bed!” if she caught them. I actually kind of miss them……..
