Has it really been so long since I’ve written a real post?

I’ve had to spend all of my computer time fixing this Web site and haven’t had any time left for writing.

Nothing. I’ve got nothing. I stare at the screen and words refuse to flow from my fingertips. Perhaps, I’ll write tomorrow.

Suggested topics would be appreciated.

While trying out a new search tool, I happened to search Amazon.com for “Amy Maxwell.” This is what I found:

The Poll With a Human Face: The National Issues Convention Experiment in Political Communication
by Maxwell E. McCombs (Editor), Amy Reynolds (Editor)

Of course a search for “Amy Maxwell” only brought up this result because of the partial names of the editors. Right?

Probably so. Why then am I blogging about such random results? Because I was a part of that National Issues Convention Experiment. At age 18, I flew to Austin, TX and joined 600 other randomly selected U.S. citizens to discuss politics and ask questions of the 1996 presidential candidates.

I had so much fun that weekend. I made several friends from Seattle who gave me their email addresses… Unfortunately, I didn’t have Internet access then. I’m not sure I even knew what email was. I only had a word processor. Remember those?

I have a National Issues Convention scrapbook somewhere in my attic. I’ll have to find it and scan some photos.

Sarah woke up after having a bad dream at 4 a.m. After getting a drink of water and going to the bathroom she asked, “Can’t you just make it morning and we stay awake?” I told her no. As I took her to my bed, she calmly asked, “Can I just lie here and keep my eyes open?”

I assumed that she fell asleep right away. I did. But this morning after she awoke, she told me that she kept her eyes open until the sun came up, then she went back to sleep.

Poor little girl.

My style sheet was utterly destroyed… with no recent backup. I’ve had to change to this old theme while I try to put the mountain design back together. The site is going to look a little odd. Sorry.

Update: Found an old backup on my laptop. Woot! Now if only I could fix my dining room chair so easily.

Update 2: That backup wasn’t recent enough. But I found just what I needed in my Firefox cache.

Iran Desperate for GodVoice of the Martyrs has asked me to review their new book, Iran: Desperate for God. Here’s their description:

“An oppressive Islamic state drives its people into the arms of God! Despite the tremendous oppression in Iran, an intense spiritual hunger is breaking out across the country.

The salvation of Jesus Christ is sweeping through one of the most oppressive terrorist nations on earth. How can it be? Read seven testimonies of Muslims who found true freedom.”

I just received the ebook. I look forward to reading it. You can read it with me by purchasing the book here.
