Hey Amy,
So, this is like forever later after your sermon but I am glad that you still have this on your site. I was so caught up in trying to hear every word, that the 12 mins. only seemed like 5. It was a good message and if you ever do make copies of the dvd I would be blessed if you would consider sending me a copy. I had a hard time catching the verses referenced and would like to be able to look at those closer. GOD BLESS YOU IN ALL THAT YOU ARE DOING! I will continue to pray for you and yours. You are going to be/already are I imagine a very good preacher and that’s just what GOD needs on HIS team! I will try to view your site more often to keep up on all of your happenings! Wow Amy- that was awesome! It really ministered to me- I have recently read the Total Money Makeover and am currently reading Financial Peace Revisited. So the whole debt thing is often weighing on my mind.

I was also impressed with just how well you delivered your message- you were so confident and not nervous acting! Very easy to listen to as well- my mind didn’t wander like it usually does during sermons! You will be great!

Sorry I’m late to view your sermon, but I wanted to share my thoughts.

Your sermon was excellent for three reasons:

1. You preached Christ and His Gospel. From our understanding of Scripture, Christ is the center of our faith and you tied your entire message into Him, making sure the Gospel was shared. I think when we preach, this is always our most important task. You delivered the Gospel in home run fashion. Praise God!

2. You preached Law. I was immediately convicted and driven to Christ…and to repentance. Praise God!

3. You preached on the audience’s level. And, since you literally told your own story and shared your own struggles, we listeners are drawn right into the message!

I’m convinced those who preach Law, Gospel and Authentic Application are going to connect with many people in our time. Praise God!

As someone who will be in a similar class in the near future, I was very appreciative that you shared this here. God has used (and will use) you in many ways through this sermon. All those logistical issues of notes and timing will work themselves out as you get comfortable with the process…so no worries on those!

Great message. Your delivery was good and the subject was needed. The best thing about it was your personal experiences (not to short the Scriptural approach - that was good, too). IMHO, personal anecdotes and experiences make a “sermon” so much more appreciated, as well as creating more of a connection with your audience/congregation - which is especially important if you are the pastor.

I enjoyed it. I love that you actually presented the message to those before you. In some of my former classroom experiences I remember a couple of young men that took on different voices and it appeared that they were presenting their message to the TBN cameras.

Amy…God gave you the Truth, and you delivered it both wisely and with honesty; anyone could tell that you have truly LIVED this and that you passionately want to bring the news to others that they do not have to be a slave to sin. I commend and applaud you on your first effort. It takes guts to get up in front of people and speak God’s Truth (I know…I do it every Sunday…LOL). Kudos to you, young lady! Keep up the good work for God!!

Amy - That was wonderful. You’ve convinced me that the (one)credit card I have is too many. And I knew that. I use it at times when I woulnd’t if I was paying cash. They didn’t keep the filming going so we could hear the resounding applause which I’m sure you received. Great job!
