Dave writes about Humanity

My good friend Dave Godzwa recently wrote an encouraging post titled, “Oh the Humanity.

He writes,

“The power is not in our perfection, nor in the facade that we might choose to display. It is in the intersection of our imperfection, our weak human condition, our story, and God’s amazing grace that power is displayed to those around us. Like Paul says in 2 Cor. 4:7: we have this “treasure in jars of clay.” We show the reality of God’s power through his redemption of our brokenness, and, as we continue to allow him to work in our lives, he takes our brokenness and makes into something beautiful.”

That’s good stuff!

  2. Amy,

Kelly and I are receiving encouragement as we see this very principle being worked out in your lives. Keep at it! We’re pulling for you.

  3. Thanks Dave,

I’ll have to read and re-read that post again and again because it speaks so directly to where I am right now. Embracing the fact that I am weak, imperfect, broken. And God somehow uses that.

  4. Wow. Has Dave been influenced by Dan Allender at all? [wink] He sure did hit the nail on the head for what I’ve been learning this past year. I’ve come to fondly summarize my life as a “glorious mess”…I bring the mess part and God brings the glory…if I want more of God, I need to be willing to be messy or honest about the mess. Embracing this and letting go of the facade brings so much FREEDOM! Thank God for His immeasurable mercy and limitless love!
