Well this is surreal. I’m typing this post on my laptop as I talk to Rachel across the hall. Yes, I said across the hall. Not across the country… she’s actually in the very next room.
[She's blogging right now too. Which is funny, cause I'm wondering what in the world she's writing. It sounds like she types really fast. And it sounds like her post is going to be a lot funnier than mine... yep it is.]
I’m in Tennessee now. Rachel and her cousin picked me up in Nashville this afternoon. Then we met Sara Horn for lunch at McDonald’s. [Who by the way, is super way cool.]
I love this. It’s seems a little insane, but I love it. I love being someone who can decide on Thursday that I should fly on Tuesday to go spend a week with a good friend I’ve never actually met. And then just to mix things up a bit, have lunch with another friend I’ve only been emailing for a week. Why not? Really… Why not? Life is too short and too hard to live alone… Wondering and wishing and worrying. We need people. We need to share life… to stop pretending… to find friends that understand.
The freedom that friendship brings is worth the risk.
Ok… enough with all philosophical seriousness. I’m sooooo excited to be here. In Tennessee. With Rachel Harmon. THE Rachel Harmon.
I walked in her front door and found myself immediately at home.

Wow, having someone you never met pick you up at the airport. That’s almost as insane as letting someone you’ve never met babysit your children. Never thought of offering you a milkshake though…Death by Dairy. Funny stuff. Enjoy your time. Come home refreshed so I can bug you for a cup of coffee….;)
