Adventure Update: Day Three

July 5th.

I woke up too early and spent the morning with my friend Aimee. After taking hours to get dressed and into the car, she dropped me off where Rachel was staying. Then Laura and Heather picked me up. We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant near the main gate where Patti, Martha, Paula and I often ate. [I ordered a Speedy Gonzales because I missed my husband.] I really enjoyed the food and conversation. Laura told a great story about a recent lunch she shared which I would link to right… here… if she’d blog about it. After lunch, we met Rachel and her kids at a park on post where I talked WAY too much… I couldn’t help it Heather and Laura got me all fired up about the chaplaincy. In fact, I actually cried while telling them about this chapel service that I attended in February. Goodness, I don’t know if it was being at Jackson, or talking to chaplain wives, but something about our time together reminded me of how terribly excited I am about becoming an Army Chaplain.

Eventually we had to leave my home away from home and head toward Tennessee.

I went to bed ‘early’ and slept 11 hours straight. Ahhh peace. But as I drifted off to sleep, I already had this sad realization that I only had four days left with my new friend.

Amy is talking to herself again.
