Yes! It’s Wednesday and that means something different this semester. Instead of feeling guilty for not taking my kids to church, instead of making up excuses to skip… it is 7:30 a.m. and I’m already looking forward to it. So are the kids. Last Wednesday was really good. The message was about silence. Ahhh silence. I especially appreciated Pastor Mike’s continual references to God’s gentle whisper. With amazing self-control, I refrained from yelling, “Dot Com” every time he said, “Gentle Whisper.”
Since getting back to Springfield, I’ve been able to attend Central Assembly three times. It’s nice to be home, nice to be worshiping in a familiar place… nice to be able to wear jeans again.
[In such a large church, I only noticed one other woman wearing jeans this Sunday morning, I wonder why I feel it's OK for me to do so?]
I really enjoyed Pastor Bradford’s sermons on Sunday. In the morning his sermon was titled, “Worth the Pain.” That night he preached on Good Guilt and Bad Guilt.
Good Stuff. I encourage you to listen to them some time.
update: Oh man, I’m so disappointed. I feel terrible and can’t go to church tonight.

Amy: I have been reading everything I can get my hands onRE: PRAYER for the past two+ years. I am finding that the more I learn…the more I hunger to learn. Thanks for your posts on prayer. I am going to try to read along. One of the best books I’ve ever READ period, and the best on prayer, is GOD ON MUTE, by Pete Greig.

Can’t wait to listen to the sermons. I’ve got a major decision to make this week and your entries and offerings have been part of the Lord’s leading…
Thanks, Amy from a fellow jean wearing, worshiper.

Excited about church. Yay for that!
Maybe I should apologize for all the skirt wearing you had to do this summer on my behalf. Maybe? I won’t. I’m sure it builds character, or something. I AM going to listen to those sermons. Maybe this afternoon.

Pastor Bradford and his wife Sandy both shared during our missionary retreat in July. I really appreciate their transparency and straight-forwardness about living the Christian life.
Happy to hear that you are enjoying the worship and preaching in your home church

Oh man girl! You need to listen to the podcast from last night. It was AWESOME. They did a panel discussion on faith vs. science. A-MA-ZING! They said they were podcasting it, so I hope you can listen to it.

Julie already emailed me and said exactly the same thing. Too bad I missed it! Glad it’s going to be online soon though.
