Life is random, so is my blog.

Counting Down

I haven’t seen my husband for 271 days. Nine Months.

Ahh… but the good news: I can count on two hands how many days I have left until I hold him again!

I’m so very excited to see him. I’m sure a great weight will lift when I hear he’s safely on U.S. soil.

I’ve not blogged much over the last few months. January especially lacked any real writing on this site. I’m just tired. Tired of being a single mom seminarian. I’ve felt like I’m at the end of a marathon, I can see the finish line… and I’m getting a leg cramp.

God is good though, when I am weak, He is strong. He’s very strong lately…

As I flipped through my old beloved black leather, gold trim NIV Bible [which quickly found a shelf when I discovered the ESV translation a year and a half ago], I found a verse that seems to say everything:

Psalm 62:11-12 NIV
“One thing God has spoken,
two things have I heard:
that you, O God, are strong,
and that you, O Lord, are loving
.”

People have asked me how I do it: How I’ve survived this deployment. Really it seems to me a silly question. What else could I do? I guess I could throw a tantrum and do it anyway.

No matter what life brings, you can go through any trial if you know:

  1. God is loving.
  2. God is strong.

He loves you and He’s strong enough to carry you through any storm.

  1. Great post, Amy. I’m so glad Joel is finally coming home, and I’m so proud of you for the way you’ve handled everything while he was gone.

Now that is a pain that I can relate too. The beautiful thing is that even those that have to crawl across the finish line get the medal.
