Life is random, so is my blog.

When are you most productive?

While Joel was deployed, I normally woke up at 4 a.m. to do homework. I’d have breakfast and write a paper or study until around 6:30 a.m. then I’d take a nap. I’d wake up 45 minutes later and get the kids ready for school.

I got a lot done before the sun came up each morning. If I didn’t set an alarm, I’d still wake up by 5:30.

With Joel home and my years of sleep deprivation finally catching up with me, I started sleeping in. When we moved to the new house with it’s terribly dark bedroom I really slept late. Apparently, this isn’t good for me. I can’t get anything done if I wake up after 9 or 10. I start the day feeling defeated and I finish the day having proven that true.

I’ve gotten so much done today! I’ve unpacked so many boxes. I finally know where all of my bathroom stuff is, where all the cleaning supplies are, I found the alarm clock, the dvd player, playdough and my Army boots. :)

I plugged that alarm clock in right away and set the alarm to 6:45. I’m going to get up tomorrow too, I like this productive not-hating-myself thing.

When are you most productive? What helps you get things done?

  2. Same as you–early, early. Summer schedule is killin’ me. I have to have plenty of quiet morning time, and I’m missing that right now. Yep, it’s time to take back my life!!! :P

  3. I am also most productive early morning when the kids are sleeping. To combat an unproductive day where nothing on my to do list is conquered I set my stove timer for 20 minutes and tell myself I only have to tackle something for that long and then I can be done. Sometimes I stop but normally that really gets me going and I can salvage a day.

What really brings me down is when the kids are whining and argumentative. It saps the energy out of me.

I’ve missed your blogs - you always inspire me to pick up my bible and as a newcomer to faith without much support, I find it here.

  4. I am envious of you. I still haven’t found the box with my alarm clock. I am using my travel version, which I hate the sound of.

I can’t figure out when I am most productive. I think if I didn’t have to get up early for work, I would be a night owl. Seems like I did my best packing at night. But I can’t think at night. If I am going to read or study I need to do it in the morning. But if I was sleeping longer in the morning, would I be able to think at night? IDK.
