Forgive me, I forgot to post a list of bloggers now attending CHBOLC at Fort Jackson. I’m sorting through my list of chaplain blogs… so far I’ve found Rob, Joe and Monty. If you know of others please leave an address in the comment section.
Blogs
I’ve found myself wanting to link to just about every thing a few of my blogging buddies write. As I read certain posts I think, “I would have written that!” So now I don’t have to. No time to write a post for each of these web gems so I’ll bring back the Saturday Stuff Series!
Sara Horn
Web sites:
Faith at the Front - Sara’s Blog
wivesoffaith.org - Military Wives support groups - Looks like this could turn into something very cool. Right now the only chapter is in Nashville… (Nashville? Does Sara live in Nashville? Cause I’m going to be there on Tuesday. Rachel we should talk her into having lunch with us.)
Recent post that totally rocks:
Strength Means Never Giving Up
An interview with Sara:
4 Ways You Can Reach out to Military Wives - She’s so right about being specific.
Chaplain Lisa Northway
Lisa is a mom and an Army chaplain endorsed by the Assemblies of God. While I was contemplating the chaplaincy, we emailed back and forth.
Here’s an article I just found about her:
Operation Scrapbook
Army chaplain Lisa Northway is using scissors, glue, and photos to inspire the troops.
Rachel Harmon
Yes, I talk about her too much. So what. She’s my new super amazing friend who I’m going to visit next week. And she has a great blog. I especially love this post:
It’s All Your Fault!!!
Here’s a hint as to the subject: “Kyra looked at the fish tank, and asked, oh, so innocently, “Why is Nemo upside down?â€
Really you should just read everything she has written lately.
Check out this post written by Sara Horn:
“A dear friend of mine, a retired military wife, called today and reminded me how important it is that we as a country pray for Victory - not just protection. For Victory - not just an end to the war. I would also add that we need to pray for victory for our families and our marriages.”
Sara’s husband is deployed and she has a son Jeremiah’s age. Somehow my subscription to her blog broke and I haven’t been reading for a few months. It’s great to get back.
My CH-BOLC buddy is now serving in Afghanistan and he has a great blog.
CH Williamson was only in my platoon for two weeks, but he made a great impression on me. He’s a good man and I’m not at all surprised to see him turning out to be an awesome chaplain. Why? Because he’s real, he loves God, and he loves soldiers.
Check out his blog. I’ve placed it on the top of my READ THIS FIRST list.
My soon coming Chaplain Web site will have a section for Chaplain Spouses. Until then, you can read some Chaplain spouse blogs here.
Oh and I might not have mentioned it here before… but I absolutely love Chaplain Wives. ![]()
Two of our blogging buddies just got new jobs.
Ron Davis is now the senior producer of KSPR, the ABC affiliate in Springfield, Mo. Congrats!
His brother Richard is going to be pastoring two different Methodist churches starting July 1st this Sunday. Very exciting!
Hello frequent visitors,
Occasionally one of you will comment with a link to your own blog. And I discover that I either didn’t know about it or I had neglected to subscribe and haven’t been keeping up lately.
I’d love to compile all of my reader’s sites into one list. Please leave your blog address in the comments. Go ahead and include a site description if you’d like. And tell us how you got here.
THANKS!
P.S. If you have a personal blog which you don’t mind me reading… but you don’t want to leave a link for the world to see… email me instead!
Side Note:
URL stands for “Uniform Resource Locator.” That’s the address for a specific resource on the Internet… not the place you buy patches for your ACU’s…
Oh… ACU stands for Army Combat Uniform… which replaced the old BDU’s and DCU’s…
