Jeremiah is doing P90X with his dad. He just did 10 pull-ups.

Jeremiah ran in the Smokey Hill River Festival Fitness Five two mile race this morning.  At eight years old, he was the youngest and definitely the smallest in this adult race.  There were about 18 runners in the eleven and under category.

Joel ran with Jer while Sarah and I waited at the finish line.  The race volunteers were the first to notice Jeremiah turning the corner towards the finish line.  They yelled, “Look at that little guy!”  Most runners got a few polite claps. But everyone really cheered for Jer.  I was so proud of him!  His goal was to finish in under 27 minutes, he finished in 24 minutes 15 seconds! He’s going to do a 5k next.

Joel ran in the Frisco 50k ten mile race yesterday.  He ran a little over 10 miles in an hour and a half.

The kids and I stopped along the trail a few times so we could cheer him on.  Here are some photos.

It’s that time of year again… time for me to wish I were the kind of person who would enter this race.

Two years ago I posted about the race and said how much I wished I could do something like this.

I’m getting a little closer. I’m in a lot better shape than I was back in 2005, and I might even know where I can find a few friends to be on my team. Oh and I’ve gotten much better at orienteering. No GPSr needed.

Still no mountain bike though.

I think I could do this next year. Anyone want to join me? Anyone got a spare bicycle. ;)
